Crafts directly from the artisan

Sanatkada, established in 2006, is on a mission to provide a platform for dedicated groups to rekindle and preserve the rich Awadhi artisanal traditions indigenous to their regions. Our goal extends beyond commerce; it's about empowering marginalised communities, particularly women in and around Lucknow.

We began this journey to offer artisans across India a platform for reviving and restoring traditional crafts, promoting sustainable fashion, and spreading the word about our incredible handicrafts and handlooms.

Through Sanatkada, we aim to showcase artisans' stories and lives to provide them with the recognition they rightfully deserve.

In the next two to three years, we aspire to popularise Lucknow's Zardozi and Kamdani art in daily wear, allowing these crafts to transcend the confines of festivals and gain recognition in daily wear like Chikankari.

Sanatkada stands as a symbol of sustainability, committed to uplifting artisans and fostering a stronger connection between craft and consumer.
